Hunstanton lifeboat rescues sick fisherman

Hunstanton lifeboat Spirit of West Norfolk was launched in the early hours of today (Friday) to take a sick crew member off a Lynn fishing boat.

It went out at 12.18am, in freezing temperatures, snow showers and a 20-knot wind, to meet up with the fishing boat in the Lynn Channel at the mouth of the River Ouse.

A Hunstanton lifeboat spokesman said the ill fisherman was returned to the lifeboat station by 1.05am. An ambulance was waiting there to take him to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Lynn.
