Incinerator: Ad claims rejected

ADVERTISING watchdogs have rejected claims the consortium wanting to build the incinerator published misleading claims in their newsletter promoting the project.

The Advertising Standards Authority were called in last summer after complaints were lodged over the contents of the Willows Newsletter.

But it was confirmed this week that the authority are taking no further action over the issue.

Cory Wheelabrator spokesman Paul Green said: “We are delighted that the ASA has confirmed our belief that our material is legal, decent, honest and truthful and at no time have we misled or misinformed the public.”

But opponents maintain the literature gives an impression to residents that is not true.
