Lawyers for the consortium who want to build the plant and the council which would allow them to claimed the plan was safe and that no other proposal could deliver the waste management provision Norfolk needs as quickly as this one.

Meanwhile their opponents outlined their plan to argue that better alternatives and sites were available and that the risks of the proposal had not been properly recognised.
