KING’S LYNN: Bus company named after College fire

editorial image

Fire broke out in the dashboard of a bus near the entrance to the College of West Anglia in Lynn at about 8.45am today.

Lynn firefighters attended and used hand appliances to put out the fire.

A spokesman for the college said students had alighted from the bus and it was leaving the college campus when an electrical fault developed in the front panel.

They confirmed the bus was owned by Emblings of Wisbech.

Black smoke was produced and the bus stopped partly in Tennyson Road, causing some disruption to passing traffic.

The road was closed for a short period but reopened at about 9am. No-one was injured.
