KING’S LYNN: Diamonds are a charity’s best friend
'Sudocrem' silver lid to celebrate The Queen's 60 years on the throne. Held by midwife Alex Alvarez-Perez.
Sudocrem, manufacturers of a nappy rash cream, is hoping to raise more than £10,000 for Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital by auctioning a specially crafted diamond encrusted lid on Friday.
Celebrity jewellery designer Theo Fennell designed the exclusive one-off lid which features a finely cut diamond embedded in a crown in celebration of The Queen’s diamond jubilee.
Fennell was invited to design the lid by Britain’s number one nappy cream following the success of his “world’s most expensive nappy cream carrier” charm bracelet for Sudocrem in 2011. That bracelet in white gold with a ruby encrusted mini Sudocrem charm helped to raise thousands for the NSPCC.
Sue Glendenning, lead midwife for inpatient services at the QEH, said: “We are thrilled that we have been chosen to benefit from this online auction. It means a great deal to us, particularly as The Queen is our patron.”
The money will go towards new equipment for the birthing rooms on the hospital’s central delivery suite.

To bid for the lid, visit the Ebay auction on Friday, December 7.
