King’s Lynn: Euro cash helps car park go green
Landscapes and Cities Project site visit at Lynn's Purfleet which will be developed.
A corner of a Lynn car park is set to go “au naturel” with the help of a group of landscape artists from France.
A pocket park is being created in the Baker Lane car park next to the Inner Purfleet as part of a link-up between West Norfolk Council and the city of Amiens.
The scheme is the first of 14 landscaping and artwork projects being carried out in West Norfolk over the next two years. All are funded with a £400,000 EU grant.
French visitors had their first look at the site on Tuesday. Landscape artist Estelle Olivier said: “It’s an opportunity to bring nature into the town.”
Plans are also in hand to clear the overgrown waterway and replace the wooden bridge – where the French visitors and borough council officials are pictured. MLNF13AM01408
