KING’S LYNN: Husband and wife are the Probus presidential team

Eddie Lyon is president of the King's Lynn Probus Club while his wife Mary is president of the King's Lynn Womens Probus Club.

A husband and wife believe they are making history by both holding the presidential titles of two clubs at the same time.

Eddie Lyon is wearing the chains of office for the Lynn Probus Club while his wife Mary is holding the same post for the town’s women’s Probus group.

Mrs Lyon was elected on Thursday last week while her husband has held the office since September last year.

Mr Lyon, of Ennerdale Drive, South Wootton, said: “I think this is the first time this has happened.

“It is quite something and I am proud of it.”
