KING’S LYNN: Natural causes verdict on deaths
Natural causes verdicts have been recorded on two West Norfolk pensioners who died at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Deputy Norfolk coroner Jacqueline Lake presided at the full inquests of David Buckingham, from West Winch, and Margaret Lake, from Hunstanton, in Norwich last Friday.
Retired police officer Mr Buckingham, 71, of Babingley Place, died at the hospital on July 12 last year. He had been taken there after his wife found him unresponsive at home, following a period of being unwell and sick.
Tissue tests were needed to help establish his cause of death, which was found to be kidney failure caused by renal tubular necrosis.
Retired school assistant Mrs Lake, 87, of Hamon Close, died at the hospital on January 18 after being admitted the previous day in an ill condition.
Tissue tests were needed to establish cause of death, which was shown to be acute heart failure caused by heart disease, with Type 2 diabetes a contributing factor.
