KING’S LYNN: Princes Trust raise £120 at charity car wash
Princes Trust hold a car wash at Lynn fire station in aid of Bridge for Heroes. LtoR - Hollie Coote, Lyndon Jolly, Stephen Lucas (team leader), Toni Warren, Josh Mansell, West Norfolk MP HEnry Bellingham, Joe Bullock, David Mills (Princes Trust), Kirsty Mickelburgh and Mike Taylor (Bridge For Heroes).
Lynn’s fire station became a car wash for a day to help a good cause.
Youngsters from the Princes Trust worked with firefighters to wash about 30 cars to raise money for the Bridge for Heroes.
Teenagers were able to use hoses from fire engines during the event, which raised about £120. MP Henry Bellingham also made an appearance.
The Princes Trust had raised about £1,000 for the charity, which helps serving troops, veterans and their families, with a bag pack and by running a market stall.
Last month Lynn News readers raised £2,500 to help Bridge for Heroes to keep its centre in the town’s South Clough Lane open over the festive period after it was facing closure.
Charity founder Mike Taylor said of the car wash: “They did an exceptional job in arduous conditions as the weather was terrible.”
