KING’S LYNN: Relocation plans for undertakers

A family firm of undertakers is looking forward to moving into refurbished premises shortly.

A J Coggles is relocating from its current site in London Road, Lynn, into the former Cobblestones restaurant in Blackfriars Street.

The firm has spent six months renovating the new site and hopes to move over within the next six to eight weeks.

John Coggles says the final touches are being added to the new premises.

He said: “I am pleased with the restoration and we are looking forward to moving into the new property.

“We have done quite a bit of work to the property to create a modern facility.”

The building includes a chapel of rest, mortuary facilities, waiting room and offices. The back yard is currently being enclosed and the front of the building has been refurbished.

Last week, the company submitted a planning application to West Norfolk Council to develop 29 flats in its current site in London Road.

The firm has applied to create four flats in the existing building with a further six in a new three-storey building at the front of the site.

There are also plans to build an additional 19 at the back.
