KING’S LYNN: Shop offers grants to good causes

A Lynn store is offering grants and “helping hands” to the community.

Wilkinson’s in New Conduit Street has been allocated £400 to support local groups and charities in 2013.

Staff are also willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer their practical help to community projects.

Store manager Scott Carmichael-Drage said Wilkinson’s prided itself on being a community-focused retailer.

“The Helping Hands scheme is an initiative to directly benefit the lives of people who live and work close to the store.

It’s great to be able to give something back to the area, whether it’s seeds to help a community garden bloom or paint for an animal shelter,” he said.

Application forms for donations of money or products, or for practical help, are
available from the store’s helpdesk.

Donations will be decided at the discretion of the staff and successful applicants will be notified within three months.
