Last pint at historic Star?

FAKENHAM'S oldest inn may never re-open as a pub.

The 409-year-old Star, which has closed in the last few weeks, may well have served its last pint, say the property agents who are looking for a buyer.

The Star is on the market for 215,000 – a price low enough to have tempted developers and retail entrepreneurs.

The agents, London-based Paramount Investments, have received interest outside the pub trade for the property which includes 12,076 sq ft of land with a pub garden, which is another factor tempting developers.

Fakenham's historic Crown Hotel also closed recently.
