Laughter just gets batter at Bircham

YOUNGSTERS at King George VI School, Great Bircham, had fun on Tuesday when they took part in Pancake Day activities.

The children worked in teams to make their own pancakes to mark Shrove Tuesday. They weighed and measured ingredients and even cooked their own pancakes, with the help of an adult.

"The first batch made were, of course, eaten," said school head Mrs Claire Bunton. "The children then made a second batch which were used for a pancake-tossing competition."

The children had a competition to toss the pancakes with nine-year-old Saffron Wright-Cable being declared the winner.
