Linda lights the way at Clenchwarton

WHEN Santa calls at Clenchwarton to deliver his presents on Christmas Eve, he is going to have no trouble at all spotting one home.

For, once again, Linda Pick has decorated her bungalow to the hilt, accepting donations for charity from those who want to come to see her work.

Mrs Pick (61), of Beverley Way, began putting up the decorations with the help of her husband Mick (58), who designs the annual displays, as early as October.

They include a number of lit reindeer, as well as snowflakes, stars and Father Christmasses.

Among new items for this year are a festive model car in memory of Mrs Pick's father, Bert Nash, from Clench-warton, who died last month, aged 88, and a new nativity scene in the back garden.

Mrs Pick's grandchildren Melissa Nicoleau (15), Jordan Wilson (6), Lauren Wilson (3) and Jamie Wilson (9) switched on the lights last Saturday.

The display is on from 5pm to 11pm from now until Sunday, January 6.

It is free, though donations are accepted for Snettisham-based Norfolk Hospice Tapping House and to help breast cancer patients at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

There is also a Santa's Grotto in the garage on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5pm to 7.30pm. Entry is 3.

In addition, Mrs Pick also runs a raffle.

Tickets are 1 a strip and prizes include a foot spa and Christmas hampers.

Last year Mrs Pick made 2,100 for her two good causes, chosen because she has had friends who have died and because she suffered from breast cancer in the past.

She hopes the total will be greater this year.
