Local armed raids: Inquiry 'still live'
INVESTIGATIONS into a string of terrifying masked raids in West Norfolk are still very much alive, the case's leading police officer has assured.
Gangs held people at gunpoint in their own homes during the armed robbery spree, which saw six attacks in as many days at its height in September.
Three people were arrested in relation to the attacks in an armed police raid at an address in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, but no-one has yet been charged.
This week Det Insp Mark Beresford, who is leading the inquiry, reiterated comments he made at the time of the arrests underlining that officers are committed to identifying all those responsible for the attacks.
Via a statement issued to the Lynn News, he added: "This is still very much a live inquiry."
Last week, the three people arrested at Littleport, two men, aged 24 and 47, and a woman, aged 44, all had their bail extended to the middle of March.
Another man who faced questioning over the attacks following a dramatic arrest where he was winched away by helicopter after forcing police to spend 55 minutes wading through a freezing river in Welney, is also still on bail. A woman arrested at the same time has also been released without charge.
