A GREAT grandmother and her partner who financed a lavish lifestyle by dealing Ecstasy and other drugs have been ordered to pay more than £35,000 under a confiscation order.

Elaine Helguson (59), of 23 Burkitt Street, Lynn, was jailed for eight years in January after she admitted possessing cocaine and 1,236 Ecstasy tablets with intent to supply, two other charges of possession with intent to supply and two of being concerned in the supply of drugs to others.

Her partner Edwin Tagg (60), of the same address, admitted two offences of being concerned in the supply of drugs and one offence of possessing criminal property, including two BMW cars, jewellery, a Samsung cinema system, an Xbox, accessories and a PlayStation.

He was sentenced to five years in prison.

When police raided their home in September they recovered 3,100 worth of cocaine, Ecstasy tablets worth 4,000, around 3,000 of cannabis and amphetamine worth 612.

The court heard the drugs were being sold similarly to them running a supermarket.

On Friday they returned to Norwich Crown Court where Recorder Guy Ayres agreed a confiscation order under which Helguson will have to pay 26,503.

She was assessed to have benefited to the tune of more than 76,690 with assets of more than 26,503.

Tagg was told to pay more than 8,693.
