Lynn students can rise to new challenges

STUDENTS at Lynn's College of West Anglia are going "up the wall" these days – but it is all part of their studies.

For last Monday the Tennyson Avenue college unveiled its latest piece of equipment in the Outdoor Pursuits area – a 32-foot high mobile climbing wall which is already a hit.

The wall was erected in the staff car park, said college spokeswoman Louise Frost, and outdoor pursuits students made the first ascents at midday.

"The wall will be used by students doing Outdoor Pursuits courses to learn the basics of climbing," said Mrs Frost.

Tim Morton, programme manager for Outdoor Pursuits and his team, will also take it to schools and careers events so younger students can experience the thrill of climbing and encourage them to get active, she said.

Anyone interested in booking the wall, or finding out more about the college's Outdoor Pursuits courses, is asked to make contact with Student Services on 01553 761144.
