Lynn support for inquest relatives
A SHARED passion to give proper support to grieving relatives attending inquiries into sudden deaths of loved ones came to fruition with the official launch of a dedicated scheme.
The Witness Service, funders, borough officials and Greater Norfolk Coroner Mr William Armstrong came together for the event at Lynn County Court.
For the first time the Witness Service is now on hand to provide support to anyone attending an inquest in West Norfolk.
Mr Armstrong said the launch had only come about as a result of the hard work of Witness Service manager in the west, Julie Stone.
He said: "Julie and I have shared a passion for wanting this scheme to set up in Lynn and it is really her enthusiasm, commitment and perseverance that has brought it about.
"Attending an inquest is always going to be a very daunting process. People who have lost loved ones have to see officials investigating into things which are very personal.
"The Witness Service is going to provide very important support for those people."
Mrs Stone sent thanks to Lynn Priory Rotary Club and Peter and Sylvia Frost, who together raised the 1,000 needed to cover first-year costs.
