Lynn town centre bins torched

FIREFIGHTERS were called out three times in 20 minutes when a string of bins close to Lynn town centre businesses were torched.

The brigade has warned businesses to seal trade waste bins at night and make sure they are moved away from buildings after the fires on Tuesday night.

Lynn crews were first called to a blaze behind the Corn Exchange, in Tuesday Market Place, at 6.50pm.

While dousing flames there, another call came in to bins behind T J Hughes, Broad Street.

At 7.09pm a third call was made, to bins behind Boots, in High Street.

Local fire risk manager Tim Edwards said the attacks showed the signs of an opportunist moving around the town with a lighter or box of matches.
