Lynn: New group for real nappy advice

A GROUP is being launched for new parents and child carers who use or are interested in real nappies.

The ‘Nappacino’ will be held once a month alongside a ‘sling meet,’ promoting the use of baby slings.

Alex Farr, 22, organiser, said: “There are so many brands now that when you start looking online it gets very confusing and overwhelming.

“It was hard work when I started out. We went through a lot of nappies to start with, trying to find one that suited us and we didn’t have anyone to say ‘if you do this it will work better.’

“I just want to help other people and let them know they have a choice.”

Miss Farr, of Butterwick, Fairstead, started using real nappies with her son Travis, two, as a money saving exercise when he was nine months old.

She said: “People think real nappies are still about pins, folding and boiling, but they are not. They are just as easy as disposables.”

Miss Farr, who used to work at Mr Bees Family Centre, now sells and promotes real nappies.

The Nappacino and sling meet is at the Vancouver Children’s Centre, Centre Point, Fairstead, 10am - 12pm on Friday (February 24) and on the last Friday of every month. For more information contact Miss Farr on 07813 203327.
