Lynn's River Island store evacuated twice in a week

LYNN'S River Island store has been evacuated for the second time this week following separate electrical faults.

Firefighters were called to the High Street shop on Monday, at 8.15am, because of smoke coming out of a light fitting in the menswear section on the first floor.

Two members of staff and a cleaner were in the building at the time - it re-opened at 1pm.

Fire crews from Lynn had to return to the fashion store today (Wednesday) at 3.17pm, following reports of another light on the first floor emitting smoke.

Three customers and five River Island staff had to leave the building -which remains closed for the rest of the afternoon.
