Lynn woman collapsed after three drugs

A RECOVERING heroin addict collapsed and died in Lynn town centre following a multi-drugs overdose, an inquest heard on Monday.

Tina-Marie Herring (33) collapsed in Tower Street on Monday, March 3, after complaining of discomfort in her throat and chest and of pain in her left arm.

The inquest, held at Lynn County Court, heard she had a history of illicit substance abuse and had visited South Gates Medical Centre that morning, but decided to run errands instead of waiting to be seen.

Miss Herring, of Trinity Road, Walpole Highway, had been receiving methadone treatment for around two years and took the medication daily.

She was rushed by ambulance to Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but attempts to resuscitate her failed and she was pronounced dead at 11.20am, less than an hour later.

The post mortem examination revealed a number of drugs in Miss Herring's bloodstream, including methadone, the painkiller tramadol and the sedative diazepam.

Greater Norfolk coroner William Armstrong recorded a verdict of accidental death.
