Make a date for Swaffham CCTV roadshow

A DATE has been set for the roadshow explaining the benefits of Breckland Council's new town centre surveillance cameras which will soon be installed in Swaffham.

The roadshow, open to the public and businesses, will be on Thursday, December 3, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Dr Harvey Room in the EcoTech Centre, Turbine Way, on Swaffham's EcoTech Business Park.

Installation of the first 18 of the new state-of-the-art CCTV cameras has begun at Thetford and those destined for Swaffham will be in place within two months, as part of the council's 3.5 million revamped system for its five towns.

By attending the roadshow, residents and businesses can learn more about the capabilities of the new system, where the new cameras will be located and how the scheme will help to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in their local area.

Visitors will also discover how they can buy into the new system and have their own private burglar and fire alarms monitored by the control room.

Breckland's community safety officer Grahame Green and Andy Haughton from the council's CCTV partner, AMS (Advance Monitoring Solutions), will be running the roadshow - and light refreshments will be available.
