Man escapes car in river

A MAN escaped his car unharmed after it plunged into a river.

Three fire engines and a rescue boat were sent to reports of a car in the river at Nordelph at 3.47pm yesterday but found no-one in the vehicle when they arrived.

Police said the car - a silver Mondeo - was actually further along the A1122 at Outwell and a man contacted them to say he had managed to free himself from the crash.
