Michael's 31st leap of faith

A WIMBOTSHAM man will be jumping out of an aircraft next month to raise funds for charity.

Retired teacher Michael Weston (59) plans to make the leap from 10,000-feet while strapped to an instructor from an airfield near Cambridge.

Mr Weston, of West Way, is no stranger to parachute jumps – this will be his 31st and just in time for his 60th birthday – but thought he would like to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care because his mother, Margaret, died after she developed the disease some years ago.

He has also known several friends who have been affected by the condition.

Mr Weston, who used to teach computing at Park High School, Gaywood but retired early to do a PhD in Astrophysics, is hoping to raise 500 and anyone interested in sponsoring him can do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/michaeljweston
