MP guest of honour at event to celebrate major pub revamp
COMPLETION of five months of improvements on schedule by local contractors was celebrated at Sedgeford's King William country inn and restaurant on Monday.
More than 150 guests attended the opening of the new restaurant, kitchen, disabled facilities, five additional bedrooms and outside eating areas – all ready in perfect time for the Easter holiday.
The guest of honour, NW Norfolk MP Mr Henry Bellingham, said it was welcome news to hear of a pub expanding and creating jobs for local people.
The owner, Mr Nick Skerritt, thanked JSD Construction, of Heacham, and all the firms and suppliers involved in the project.
He said: "I'm absolutely delighted with everything and we opened exactly on the day I said we would."
He also thanked his customers for their loyalty and patience during the building work.
All the pub's nine bedrooms are booked for the long weekend and Mr Skerritt said: "We are hitting the ground running."
More information about the improvements and facilities can be found on the pub's website: www.thekingwilliamsedgeford.co.uk
