NARBOROUGH: Bingo boost for breast care
Cheque presentation from charity bingo group to QEH Breast Imaging Unit. Front LtoR - Tina Lucie-Smith (supt radiographer), Christine Howard, Heather Masters (deputy supt). Back LtoR - Chloe Howard, Emma Butler, Michelle Butler, William Butler (1), Peter Howard and Paula Bellis (assistant practioner).
A secret Santa bingo held at Narborough Village Community Centre raised £800 for the breast care unit at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Organiser Christine Howard and her family wrapped the bingo prizes as Christmas presents for the well-supported event in December.
Mrs Howard said: “In 2011 I had breast cancer and had treatment there and they really were fantastic. To raise £800 was fantastic, I didn’t expect to raise that much.”
Mrs Howard thanked everyone who attended and all those who helped her organise the event, including her husband Peter and granddaughters Natasha Dean, Emma Butler, Chloe Howard and Corrina Butler.
An Easter bingo in aid of an Aspergers Charity will be held at Narborough Village Community Centre on March 18. Doors open at 6.30pm, eyes down at 7.30pm.
