Neighbours save trio from burning Lynn home
NEIGHBOURS have saved a mum and her two children from their burning home – using a trampoline to break the fall from an upstairs window.
Households in King's Green, Fairstead, Lynn, were awoken by screams at 3am yesterday to find thick black smoke filling the street.
They rushed out to help, first catching the children from the window of the blazing home, then smashing down a fence to get the trampoline from the next door garden and encouraging the mum to jump down on to it.
Firefighters arrived at the scene soon after and battled into the house to search for anyone else. It took three crews to control the inferno.
Lynn station manager Dave Cain praised the neighbours' actions.
Investigators were at the scene this morning trying to uncover how and where the blaze began.
The family were still at hospital yesterday morning being treated for smoke inhalation and the mum for an injury to her foot.
Their home, still displaying a Merry Christmas banner in the front window, has been left a blackened shell.
