New roundabout at Saddlebow

NEW traffic-calming measures will be installed in Lynn's Saddlebow Road in the New Year as part of a £61,000 scheme to improve road safety.

Work is due to start on Monday, January 7, and will see a mini-roundabout installed at the junction with Wisbech Road along with traffic islands to help pedestrians cross the busy road safely.

Adjustments are also being planned on Winfarthing Avenue, where "build outs" will be added to slow vehicle speeds.

A spokesman for Norfolk County Council said the work was agreed following the completion of the new NORA access road, Nar Ouse Way, when the authority announced traffic-calming measures would be installed on Saddlebow Road.

The scheme is expected to take eight weeks and temporary traffic lights will be in operation while the work is carried out.
