As festive cheer sweeps across West Norfolk with rehearsals for nativities and Christingle creations popping up in schools across the borough, competition is high to find that original way of celebrating Christmas.

Pupils at North Wootton Primary School found the perfect way of grabbing the attention of their family and friends when they performed at a special Victorian carol concert yesterday.

All Saints Church was packed to the rafters with onlookers as the children chimed in with the traditional carols loved for generations.

Keeping to the Dickensian theme, the children donned bonnets and aprons, short trousers and flat caps in the spirit of the celebration as they sang from their hymn sheets in front of the church’s Christmas tree.
