Caring schoolgirl Amy Cook raised £110 for the RSPCA by baking cakes and cookies and selling them to her classmates.
Amy, 9, of South Wootton, baked 172 cakes and gave an assembly to about 200 children where she talked about the RSPCA and her involvement with the organisation’s Animal Action Club.
Her mum Tara said: “Amy is very, very excited that she has been given the opportunity to do this at her school. She loves cooking, especially since she received lots of cookery things for Christmas.”
Headteacher Jonathan Williams said: “We are keen to encourage children to raise money and be aware that making a contribution to the wider comunity is also important. We are really pleased with how it went and the highlight for me was her assembly. We are very proud.”
