Now Gaywood pupils can make music
CHILDREN at Gaywood's Alderman Jackson School can look forward to interactive music lessons thanks to a generous donation from Wingland Foods.
The school for youngsters with special educational needs has been able to buy a new electronic sound beam after the Sutton Bridge factory gave 1,000 towards it.
Headteacher Mrs Debby McCarthy said the smallest of body movements in front of the beam will generate a musical sound, meaning children with even very limited movement can now make music.
Wingland Foods chose the school as its annual charity last year as a member of staff has a child who attends there, and money was raised through events including a senior management golf day, raffles and carol singing at Christmas.
The company's training co-ordinator Linda Loveday and other members of its site employee forum presented the money to the school's head of music Joella Nash.
