Ofsted praises Blenheim Park
GOVERNMENT inspectors have have officially ruled Sculthorpe's Blenheim Park Primary to be a "good" school.
The school, which has a 45 per cent proportion of pupils with learning difficulties, was given a grade two – good – rating overall in all areas in its latest Ofsted report.
The report said: "The school's warm and friendly atmosphere contributes greatly to strong parental support and very good relationships throughout the school.
"This, together with the range of interesting activities teachers provide in lessons and the wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs ensures that pupils' enjoyment of learning is outstanding and they are very happy in school."
The school could improve further by extending its good assessment systems and effective use of planning and tracking progress in English, maths and ICT to other subjects, the report said.
It also said the school should aim to improve pupils' achievements in writing.
Headteacher Mrs Carol Ransome said: "We are obviously delighted with the report. What I feel is particularly important to us is team work and the good relationships that Ofsted highlights within the school with parents, governors and staff, and the wider community.
"The children's outstanding enjoyment of learning is also very close to our hearts."
Mrs Ransome added that action plans are already in place to meet the targets for improvements.
