Ouse Booze is best for real ale... again
LYNN'S Ouse Amateur Sailing Club has once again beaten off competition from across East Anglia to be crowned Regional Club of the Year by The Campaign For Real Ale.
The award was presented to members in recognition of their commitment to real ale, with judges particularly impressed by the range of beer available in the small cosy club, which is based in Ferry Lane on the riverbank next to the ferry steps.
The club received the same award in 2006 and was also named national club of the year in 1999.
Club secretary Ron Bone said: "Needless to say, we are very proud to receive this accolade again, despite difficult circumstances during a cellar refit.
"We will continue to do our very best to provide the very best range of real ales and ciders in peak condition and correct temperature."
Andrea Briers, deputy regional director for East Anglia, added: "This award is well deserved recognition of the hard work of Ron and the staff which makes this club a welcome retreat for lovers of real ale and cider."
