Paraglider gets knotted at Hunny

A YOUNG paraglider had an embarrassing time in Hunstanton when he landed safely on the promenade but saw his parachute lines entangled in the festive lights.

But help was at hand in the form of local pensioner Tom Carpenter who, feeling sorry for the young daredevil, held the parachute and offered his walking stick and wife's trekking pole as tools to help untangle the lines.

Mr Carpenter said: "The young chap was very embarrassed and once he had got the his lines untangled he thanked me, gathered it all up and carried it away. No harm was done to the lights, just his pride."
