Pilgrim children flock to Lynn churches

PUPILS at two Lynn schools got into the true spirit of Christmas with a pilgrimage around the churches of the town.

Around 150 children from Whitefriars and Greyfriars schools visited All Saints’, St Margaret’s, St John’s, St Nicholas’ and the Christian Fellowship in Wellesley Street to learn about the Christmas story.

And for some of them it gave a chance to go inside a church.

Organised by the newly-formed Teacher and Clergy Network, the event on Thursday saw the “pilgrims” collect festive icons along the way.

Members of the clergy taking part included the Revs Christopher Ivory, Corin Child, David Tate, Linda Ashby, Fr Paul Kinsey and Kevin Baldwin of the Christian Fellowship.

Network spokesman Mrs Steph Hall said the children had all enjoyed the event and everyone involved hoped it would become a regular feature in the Christmas calendar.
