Police: Smash and grab warning to motorists

MOTORISTS are being warned to beware after a string of vehicles had passenger windows smashed and valuables taken from within.

Handbags were stolen from a black Vauxhall Zafira, in Lynn Road, Bawsey, between 1.45pm and 2pm and from under the seat of a white Rover 45, in Beach Road, Snettisham, between 4pm and 4.50pm on Sunday.

In a similar attack in Empire Avenue, Gaywood, a digital camera was stolen from a white Mercedes, between 11pm on Sunday and 4.45am on Monday.

A police spokesman said it was unclear if the crimes are linked and urged motorists to remove all valuables from their vehicles.

Anyone who witnessed any of the thefts or has any information about them should contact DC Richard Moden at Lynn Police Station on 0845 4564567.

Or, ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
