Positive response in raids investigation
THE public response to appeals for information following a series of armed robberies in West Norfolk has generated a number of fresh lines of inquiry.
Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Mark Beresford said there had been a "very positive" response from the public and officers were actively following-up some new leads.
A team of 25 detectives, led by Norfolk's Major Investigation Team, is working on the case which is focusing on recent robberies at six homes in West Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
On two occasions the gang of masked offenders has discharged firearms though no-one has been hurt.
Det Insp Beresford said the inquiry team was making "good progress" and has, among other lines of enquiry, been able to act on a number of 'phone calls from members of the public.
"We've had a very positive response from the public to appeals for information offering details which officers are actively pursuing.
"We would still appeal for anyone with information that might assist the investigation to contact us, knowing all calls will be dealt with in the strictest confidence."
He added there had been no "let up" in the pace of the investigation and an "awful lot of work" had been going on in the background to bring the investigation to a conclusion as quickly as possible.
Anyone with information can contact the team at Downham on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
