Praise for dedicated youth worker
A DEDICATED youth worker was described as "a fine young man who had given so much and had so much more to give" during an inquest this week.
Paul Harrison, of Holt Road, Fakenham, died on March 12 after he lost control of his motorcycle and was flung from his bike.
The 34-year-old worked with Fakenham Baptist Church’s Ekklesia Project and was studying for a degree in youth work and theology.
Greater Norfolk Coroner William Armstrong praised his dedication to youth work on Tuesday.
He had been travelling along the A1065 towards Swaffham. Other drivers stated he had been riding in an appropriate, safe and competent manner.
There was a minor accident at South Raynham and four cars involved were parked at the side of the road. An oncoming Scania lorry overtook them and as a result Mr Harrison was riding very close to the nearside. For an unknown reason Mr Harrison lost control and hit the kerb.
Police crash investigator Martin Baker said the Scania lorry was back in its correct lane.
Mr Harrison leaves a wife and young son. Mr Armstrong recorded a verdict of death as the result of a road traffic accident.
