Rainbows' coin tube is sweet gift for children
YOUNG members of the 2nd Lynn Rainbows went to the Roxburgh Children's Centre at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday laden with gifts for less fortunate youngsters.
They were delivering crayons, paper and stickers which they had bought with money raised by filling a sweet tube with coins.
This fundraising activity was part of an Anglia Birthday Challenge for rainbows, which also included learning about the rainbow movement overseas, making a paperweight for Father's Day, making a friendship doll, filling a matchbox with 20 small items, and making a book about their visit to Banham Zoo.
The Roxburgh Centre gifts, which will be used by children receiving treatment at the centre, were presented by a group of the rainbows to centre co-ordinator Barbara Creed.
A sweet tube of coins bought all of these gifts for the Roxburgh Children's Centre. Rainbows, pictured delivering them to the centre, went away with a thank-you note from the centre co-ordinator Barbara Creed. Picture: ROY WILLIAMSON 07RW11063 www.photostoday.co.uk
