Robbers pin woman to floor

THREE men tricked their way into the home of a woman in her 80s and pinned her to the floor before stealing her handbag.

The pensioner was held down and threatened by one man while another found her handbag, which contained 300.

The gang then locked her in a room and ripped the telephone wires from the wall, forcing her to climb out of a window to get help.

The robbery happened at the woman's Northwold home at around 12.30pm on Monday.

The men, all white and under 30, got into the home under the pretext of working nearby. One was thin, with short, fair "crinkly" hair, and was wearing a zip-up jacket and fawn-coloured trousers. Another had darker hair and one wore a navy t-shirt and the other a white t-shirt.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact Det Con Ian Young at Downham Market CID on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
