Russians bring 'beast' of show
THE stage at Lynn Corn Exchange was transformed into an ice rink this week when the world-renowned Russian Ice Stars skated into town with a beast of a show.
The venue has been transformed into a wintry wonderland for the skating troup’s latest spectacular, Beauty and the Beast On Ice, starring the world’s tallest professional ice skater Audrey Chuvilyaev, from Moscow.
Technicians worked round the clock to get the ice rink ready for Wednesday’s opening night, using four tons of ice – weighing the equivalent of two double-decker buses – and 14,000 litres of water, enough to make 56,000 cups of tea. It took more than 140 man hours to construct and will take a further 30 hours to dismantle.
Russian Olympian Audrey, who is 6ft 6in, is joined by Olga Pershankova, playing Beauty.
The show is on tonight at 7.30pm, tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and on Sunday at 1pm and 4.30pm.
Tickets, priced from 16.50 to 24.50, are available from the box office on 01553 764864.
