Sarah will press button - WATCH VIDEO AND VIDEO ON THIS SITE SUNDAY MORNING

Waiting for Video...

CLENCHWARTON’S Sarah Griffiths will be pressing the button on Sunday (January 15) to blow up the iconic Campbell’s Tower.

Sarah was chosen from a shortlist of 45 nominees to have a hand in Lynn’s history because of the sense of closure which felling the tower will bring her.

The 41-year-old, mother of two, from Main Road, lost her father Mick Locke in a steam blast at the former Campbell’s factory.

Click on the video to see her thoughts on being chosen, and what will go through her mind when she pushes the button.

o THE historic tower will be blown up in a controlled explosion at 8am.

People wanting to view the event will be directed to a safe area at the B&Q car park opposite the site.

To ensure traffic safety, Campbell’s Meadow will be shut from 7.30am to 8.30am. Anyone wishing to watch the explosion should reach the site before 7.30am.

o THERE WILL BE A VIDEO OF THE DEMOLITION ON THIS WEBSITE FROM SUNDAY MORNING.
