Sedgeford: Look back centuries at dig

ARCHAEOLOGISTS involved in this year's Sedgeford dig will be displaying a host of exciting discoveries from the village at a special open day on Sunday.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a first-hand look at the numerous finds unearthed by the Sedgeford Historical and Archaeological Research Project (SHARP) in its 12-year history, including evidence from the recently-discovered Anglo Saxon village.

Experts will also be available to answer any questions people may have while youngsters can have a go at "trowelling" for finds, enjoy dressing up in period costume and learn ancient writing techniques.

The SHARP site is signposted in the village and can be found off Snettisham Road.

The event is open from 10am to 4pm, admission is free and parking costs 2.

The SHARP site is also open from 11am to 4pm daily (except Saturday) until Friday, August 1.
