Shocked friends leave messages of farewell

TRIBUTES have been paid to a "great pair of lads" who died on a railway line after being hit by a train.

Friends of teenagers Shaun Barnes and Luther Storr taped messages and flowers to fencing at Watlington station.

YOU CAN PAY YOUR TRIBUTES BY E-MAILING HERE OR BY POSTING THEM BELOW.

One message said: "We are going to miss you so much. You will always live on, in our hearts and memories. We love you".

One tribute, signed Danny, best mate for life, added: "So Where do I start? What am I going to do now you are gone? Hope you remember all the good times we had together."

Borough councillor for Watlington and GP Dr Ian Mack told the Lynn News: "It's an absolute tragedy for the families concerned and a very traumatic event for them to suffer. My thoughts also go out to the train driver."

Parish councillor Jean Golding added: "I'm horrified and very concerned for the families involved as anybody would be. Their lives have been turned upside down."

Congregations at services within the five parish-link, which includes St Germans, said prayers for the boys at the weekend.

Vicar Diana Penny said: "We pray for those people, for their families and for everyone involved in the aftermath."

The poem below has come in from Callum Muncaster, who describes himself as one of the boys' closest friends.

LUEY & BARNSEY

You 2 have gone,

So far away.

But you will be thought of,

Every day.

To so many people,

You will be missed.

The silly faces,

When you 2 were p****d.

So many memories,

Have turned into tears.

The train tracks now,

Are one of our fears.

Because of the fate,

That they have brought you.

LUEY & BARNSEY,

WE ALL MISS YOU.

LOVED ONE!

A loved one is a precious thing we all have by our side,

to lose one is a tragedy as part of you has died,

close your eyes and picture them as there never far away,

and smile as you remember

you will reunite one day

I just wanted to share this poem I wrote for the families of Shaun and Luther and send my thoughts and prayers their way.

If We Could Bring You Back Again

If we could bring you back again,

For one more hour or day,

We'd express all our unspoken love;

We'd have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again,

We'd say we treasured you,

And that your presence in our lives

Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again,

To tell you what we should,

You'd know how much we miss you now,

And if we could, we would.
