Snettisham caravanners raise 'lolly'

A GROUP of caravanners at Snettisham Caravan Park have come up trumps by raising £5,758.33 for the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.

"Each year we raise money throughout the season to buy much-needed equipment for various local charities," said site charity organiser Mrs Jen Meenaghan.

"We have a vote at the beginning of the season in March to decide who will be our nominated charity. This year it has been the turn of Tapping House."

The money has been raised through various means including a fun day, bingo, an auction and raffles, while some of the children on site held a table-top sale. There is also a sale of second-hand books throughout the season.

Snettisham-based Tapping House provides palliative care to people with cancer, neurological and other life-limiting conditions.

The cheque was handed over at the park to Tapping House fundraising manager Rob Cartwright.

Mr Cartwright said: "We are truly grateful to everyone for their fantastic fundraising achievements .

"The money they have raised will help us to buy much-needed equipment so we can continue improving the quality of life of the people we care for."

This year's cheque brings the amount raised at the park for charity since 1995 to 42,018.04.
