SOUTH WOOTTON: A taste of history for Meals on Wheels volunteers

Volunteers who have helped with the WRVS meals-on-wheels service in the Lynn area for over past 50-60 years attend farewell gathering at South Wootton.

More than 50 volunteers who helped Meals on Wheels deliver for over 60 years across Lynn met to reminisce after the closure of the service last November.

Pamela Rowe, one of the organisers, said: “Everybody enjoyed it and they were all very pleased to meet up with volunteers from years ago.

“There were lots of memories and we had volunteers aged from their 50s to 80s.”

The volunteers enjoyed an afternoon of tea and cake at South Wootton Village Hall.
