Stoke Ferry dancers stomp up £700

PUTTING their best feet forward, a line dancing group has raised £700 for charity.

Stoke Ferry Stompers members meet at the village hall on a Tuesday evening and money from the entry fee was initially put towards improvements at the hall – and now goes to charity.

Leader Mrs Mally Reeve explained the latest donation was also helped by proceeds from a lunch and dance event held in August, which was compered by Les Gaskins and featured singer Alan Gregory.

Member Mrs Hazel Hearne suggested the money should go to help prostate cancer patients at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A raffle helped boost the final total.

Anyone is welcome to join the Stompers, formed five-and-a-half years ago, by turning up at the hall on a Tuesday night between 7pm and 8.30pm.
