Stow Bridge: 100 log cabins for holiday park

MORE than 100 log cabins will be built in a West Norfolk holiday park after plans were given the go ahead.

Members of West Norfolk Council's development control board voted unanimously in favour of the proposal to build 138 cabins on 40 acres in the Woodlakes Caravan and Camping Park, in Holme Road, Stow Bridge.

The decision was made on Monday, in Lynn. Current amenities on the 66-

acre site include 18 log cabins, lakes, a spool and tennis court.

Planning issues which affected the application were impact on the countryside, highway safety, and crime and disorder.

Councillor Trevor Manley said: "This is doing away with the caravans which has been quite a pain for villages in Stow Bridge."

The holiday park is nearby to homes in Downham Road, which is on the outskirts of Stow Bridge.

Most of the cabins will be 40ft by 20ft and the biggest will be 55ft by 20ft. Each one will have its own parking space.
