Their Tour de France

A SADDLEsore father and son have raised more than £1,500 to help raise AIDs and HIV awareness in Africa after completing a 220-mile bike ride.

Nigel Madgett (61), of Snettisham, and his son Oli (29) were part of a group of nine riders taking part in the three-day cycle from London to Paris last month.

The group raised more than 4,500 in aid of a unique Tackle Africa project, which raises awareness of AIDS and HIV in Kenya through football.

The retired teacher from Gaywood’s Park High School and the former student of Smithdon High School in Hunstanton were thrilled with how the fundraiser went, and said the weather was perfect for the ride. All riders were employees and friends and family of new media company Siren TV, which is run by Oli in London and is a Tackle Africa project sponsor.

Anyone who would like to donate to their cause can visit their fundraising website at: www.just giving.com/teammadgett
